Especially in cricket, when the hopes of a million frenzied fans and the esteem of your cricket crazy country/state rest on your tender shoulders to deliver the much needed last shot that’d make that thin line between victory and loss look and resound glaringly and blaringly like the Kargil war!

Pressure is created by how we look at it at a particular situation. One needs to understand that pressure starts inside us with our thoughts about the big game or meeting others’ expectations. It is not some external force that grips you by the neck and makes your veins stick out! It is WE! And how WE create the pressure by imagining a negative outcome. The solution lies within; as I have seen our team players do, training the mind to always perform naturally without thinking about what it needs to do next and what the possible consequences are of your actions. Being in the moment completely!

Our team captain has earned the nickname of Mr. Cool, considering he has the weight of the expectations. He believes that staying calm helps one focus and concentrate, shut off all the other voices of expectations, of endless advices to just find his groove to get through.

We tell all those players who feel pressure that what needs to be done, requires your 100%! Nothing less will do. You owe it to yourself! The discipline and the hard work of the actor stood out and that’s what was applauded!

It’s not easy being an accomplished sportsman! It takes years of hard, painful training, hours of practising, sacrificing the other things and perfecting the game one has undertaken to do justice to. Every sportsperson worth his salt in this country will definitely vouch for the sweat and grit he or she has put in. Sports is something that demands that much of you. Nothing is possible overnight.

When such is the case, the aspiring sportsperson owes it to himself to stay focussed in the game. Mental discipline is more challenging and it takes every ounce of one’s self-control to keep the focus steady. It is so easy to lose focus and get distracted.

When Dronacharya, the teacher of the Panadavas and Kauravas in Mahabharatha, asked his star pupil Arjuna, after he’d taken aim of the eye of the bird, as to what he saw, he said, ‘I see the eye of the bird!’ as against his other pupils who said, ‘I see the tree, the branches, the bird and the leaves!”

Distraction can undo in a moment what one has taken years to perfect. It can be very debilitating and one can lose faith in oneself as a result. Keeping this valid point in mind, my advice is to give the game the discipline it requires. Physically and mentally. Physically, exercising regularly, practising your game, keeping fit in order to be able to give it your all and maintaining your diet to do full justice to your game. And mentally, disciplining yourself to steer clear of the distractions and focussing on the game.

Your destination - your spot on the victory stand, the penultimate glory of touching the finishing line, hitting the winning six, that much needed last minute goal – everything is within your reach, provided you reach out for it with focus and single-mindedness it needs.

Practice with focus and the rewards will be waiting for you!

Stop Worrying about weight loss

https://www.natsportsmed.com/dr-madhus-blog/stop-worrying-about-weight-loss

https://www.natsportsmed.com/dr-madhus-blog/stop-worrying-about-weight-loss#comments

Uncategorized

Weight loss is one of those subjects that everybody is all the time discussing about. It seems nobody can go anywhere without seeing or hearing some type of weight loss tips. Stories of the side effects of not reducing weight appear everyday on the nightly news. Retail outlets and the Internet both are full of weight loss books and secrets. Weight loss is talked in health centers and at colleges and even in the offices. If you’re waiting to weight loss, here are a few Formulas to get you going

Tip #1: Stop Worrying About Weight Loss!
All that talk about how much you want to weight loss isn’t going to make the weight come off. You’ve got to take action, starting right now. So take this simple advice: Stop eating too much and start moving your body! It won’t take time to start seeing the results.

Tip #2: Slow and Steady is great
Slow and steady weight loss is better (and safer) than riding the dieting roller coaster. If you’re looking for long-lasting weight loss results, aim to lose an average of about two pounds each week. In order to reduce weight you’ve got to consume fewer calories than you burn. As a bonus, when you combine dieting with exercise, you’ll be dropping your caloric intake and increasing your caloric burn rate at the same period.

Tip #3: Save Your Money
Don’t waste your hard-earned money on the newest weight loss gimmicks. Pills, fad diets, hypnosis, and extreme surgical procedures are not the answer! These fake products won’t slim you down, but they will fatten the bank accounts of those who promote them! Eating a nutritionally-balanced diet of fruits, vegetables, good fats and lean proteins will hearten weight loss quicker than any miracle treatment you can buy.

Tip #4: Weight Loss is a Way of Life
Unfortunately, the subject of weight is something that most people will struggle with throughout life. Excess processed foods and a sedentary lifestyle are the two biggest contributors to this constant struggle. If you require losing weight and keeping it off, you’ve got to change the way you think about food. It should be thought of as a source of fuel, not a passion. Successful weight loss really is about making lifestyle changes, including making the right food choices, and then sticking with those choices throughout life.

Tip #5: Weight Loss is More Than a Number
While you’re dieting, don’t become a victim of the dreaded scale. When the numbers go down, happiness goes up. But when the numbers stay the same or go up, it is easy to give up and give in. Remember that even if your weight isn’t changing as you would like, your body is. You’ll be taking better care of your heart. You’ll be lowering your cholesterol levels. You’ll be sporting a leaner body and your clothes will begin fitting more comfortably. When you discover to find pleasure in these other benefits, you’ll want to keep on being a loser!

Tampa Bay Rays Ticketslink( akashtechnology123@gmail.com )
7/18/2012 20:23:29

Thank you for such a fantastic blog.
